Who We Are…
My wife Jennifer & I have always been extremely interested in building, architecture, and home design and decor. Our backgrounds show that; I’ve been a builder for over 20 years and Jen was the store manager of a home decor store for over 5 years. We’ve both always enjoyed working with people in one way or another.
Jen and I both lived in the same small town in Southern Illinois, with a population of 2,100. We both attended the same small school from kindergarten through high school (which by the way is in the same building!). We were married a few years after Jen graduated and have been for 13 wonderful years. We now have two amazing daughters, Sierra 11, and Karlee, 3. We lived in Southern Illinois all our lives until our house burned down in the middle of the night during an ice storm. Shortly after, I rebuilt our home.
We decided we wanted to live in Florida because of the warm weather. We talked with our realtor and before she could get the actual sign in the ground, she had sold it! We knew it was the right thing to do! Once we moved here, times were very tough at first. I was trying to get established and Jen was working part time at SunTrust Bank. Once Karlee was born, we couldn’t afford for Jen to work….she was only part time, but we had to pay full-time daycare. So she then became a stay at home mom until she could find something full-time. We attend Spring Hill Baptist Church.
Throughout our marriage, we had always talked about owning our own business and store “one day”. Finally, after saving and saving “one day” finally arrived! We are now the very proud owners of BENEDICT BUILDERS, INC. and R HOUSE 2 YOURS. It’s our dream come true, I guess you could say our version of the American Dream.
With the economy the way it is these days, we decided against building another “typical model”. We’ve opened our very own “MINI MODEL SHOWROOM”. It’s VERY unique to our area! Our showroom has BEAUTIFUL CUSTOM Cabinets, A Custom Bathroom, and Tiki Bar & Outdoor Living area. We carry a great selection of hardwood flooring, ceramic & glass tile, travertine, marble, bathroom & kitchen faucets, and Much More!

Another UNIQUE detail inside our Showroom, is R HOUSE 2 YOURS! Jen has a WONDERFUL Home Decor store. She carries a Full Line of BEANPOD CANDLES, the Real Soy Candle! It’s great for the environment, clean burning, not tested on animals, and Made in the USA! Go Green with Beanpod!! She also carries large wall clocks, lamps/lighting, vases, large decorative charges with stands, beautifully framed wall art, as well as hand painted canvas paintings by a local artist, her mom! She also has custom window treatments, pillows, and placemats & napkins. In addition to these fabulous items, she also has potpourri, sachet packets from Scentations, garden items (planters, thermometers, & etc) UNIQUE TIKI TOTEM POLES and other TIKI items of various sizes and styles. Pierre Rousses candles are also a big seller, we carry the full Couture Line, which are beautiful hand poured candles that come in a wonderful elegant box. These candles are made in Miami and have a Very strong and different fragrance! Ceramic Roosters, wine decor, plate racks, among SO much more!
In the near future the store will also offer custom gift baskets which are a new and exciting direction, from any price point!!

Benedict Builders was started more than 30 years. For the last 15 years my wife and I have owned and operated it with the same attention to detail it was started with. Over the years we have slowly grown to include a custom cabinet and trim shop. Our entire staff is clean cut, DRUG FREE and must maintain a high level of continuing education in the building field. You can rest assured that we will treat you, your home and your project with the upmost respect. From taking off our shoes when we entry your home, placing down flooring protection and tenting off the work area or keeping the work area clean and clutter free, we will do our best to treat your home as our own. We are State Certified as a Residential Builder and Remodeler and Nationally as a Breen Contractor. Benedict Builders is fully insured and adheres to the Florida and International Building Codes.

We are a team of highly skilled craftsmen, project managers and designers. Our business process is streamlined and well communicated among all members of the Benedict Builders Team. We pride ourselves on providing clients with the consistency and quality they expect throughout the entire process. We will work closely with you from the initial consultation, Design Phase, Project Schedule, Construction Phase all the way thru final walk through and warranty phase. For example during the Design Phase we closely examine the areas that are to be transformed. As-built measurements are taken, photographs of the site and areas that maybe affected by the construction process are taken for review and building codes and ordinances are examined. We begin our preliminary designs. Now its time for more of your personal input! We will meet with you at our Mini Model Showroom and present our preliminary design using 3-D technology on a 35 inch screen. You will now be able to see a computer generated image of your project, ask questions, make changes and begin to “fine tune” your plans. A very specific contract will be drawn up for the work to be completed. You will have an opportunity to review the contract and modify it. Once the contract and budget are finalized the project will move into production. These are just a few of the things that set Benedict Builders apart from the rest.
